This article describes the results obtained from two mixed plantations of poplar and walnut located in Lombardia region (the north of Italy).The functions and purposes of each species are shown and the advantages gained by associating walnut and poplar. The most likely development of the two plantations, in similar conditions to the present, are also discussed.
